I just returned from an eight day visit to Sharjah http://www.sharjah.com/ , the Cultural Hub of the UAE. I was a guest speaker at the 29th Sharjah International Book Fair.http://www.sharjahbookfair.com/home.html
I have never been to this part of the UAE before. I have been to Dubai and to Abu Dhabi last year and found Sharjah to be very different in many ways. It does not have the tallest building or the largest indoor ski slope. It has 18 museums and one of them is the world class Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. http://www.islamicmuseum.ae/
