I was really looking forward to visiting the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum and was disappointed to find it closed for renos when I finally made it there.
So I went to the Museum of Islamic Civilization instead, which is totally ace. Beautiful building and interesting contents, was great to have a wander and learn a bit more about Islam. In particular there’s a fascinating section on the hajj.
On the top floor there is a plush lounge with an amazing mosaic on the dome roof.
There was a bit of calligraphy at this museum anyway, but it just whet my appetite for more…
