The Sharjah International Book Fair has its own paper, Hamzat Wassl, which I think is published every couple of days.
Yesterday I was excited to see that the Emerging Writers’ Festival had rated a mention:
The Melbourne based Emerging Writers’ Festival (EWF) Director Lisa Dempster has been invited by the Sharjah International Book Fair. Impressed with EWF’s innovate Twitterfest and EWFonline programs of 2010, the Sharjah Book Fair extended an invitation for Lisa to speak on the topic of literary social media and emerging writers in Sharjah.
The topic gains importance in wake of the increasing popularity of the social media platforms like the Facebook, Twitter etc that have come to define the new age communication between millions of people across the world.
Hamzat Wassl is in English (one side) and Arabic (the other) (or maybe it’s the other way around) – it’s so impressive to see a Book Fair with its own news service!
